Call for Abstracts
Make a scientific contribution to the advancement of Biomaterials at WBC 2020
As you are an expert in the field of biomaterials and/or tissue engineering, we would like to provide you the opportunity to make a scientific contribution for consideration by the WBC 2020 Scientific Programme Committee.
Abstracts can be submitted for consideration for an oral or poster presentation. Please see the submission guidelines to ensure a successful application.

Please read the instructions below before starting your submission:
The WBC Scientific Committee will only accept original scientific material, which has not been published before elsewhere. However, abstracts presented at local, regional or national meetings only may be submitted. Abstracts must be complete, relevant, balanced and written in high-quality English. This will help review and selection by the Scientific Committee.
Abstract submission for the congress is only possible via the online submission platform – the initial submission will be through the online submission system and you will have to type (or copy and paste) your abstract into the online system. If your paper is accepted, you will be required to submit you abstract in A4 ‘camera ready’ format. Full details of how to do this will be provide in the acceptance letter. The full list of authors and affiliations will have to be added when submitting your abstract online. If you fail to do this your authors will not appear in finalist of authors on the official congress app.
Abstracts submitted via e-mail, fax or other means of communication will not be accepted.
The online abstract system will take you step by step through the submission process.
Upon completion of the submission process you will receive a confirmation e-mail.
All accepted papers will have to be re-submitted in camera-ready mode in PDF; additional information on how to submit the final paper will be provided
The person who submits the abstract will be the main contact and must create an account to upload, edit and save abstracts in the portal.
Please keep the email and password used to create the account for future reference and do not create multiple accounts.
Kindly note that a separate link will be provided for all accepted Symposia and Workshop abstracts; these will be sent to the submittin authors by August 15th
Abstracts must be submitted according to the format set out below.

IMPORTANT: Kindly note that the presenting author of the abstract must be registered to the congress. The abstract will be removed from the programme if the presenting author has not registered by March 2nd 2020.
Presentation Format:
An abstract can be submitted for presentation at the congress as either Oral or Poster presentation. Submitters may indicate their preference by selecting poster, oral, or either poster or oral.
The decision on which format each accepted abstract will take is made by the programme committee and is final. The presenting author will be informed of the decision on week commencing 16th December 2019.
Oral: Presentation guidelines will be sent to all accepted oral presenters in advance of the congress.
Poster Format: Authors with an abstract accepted as a poster must produce a poster for display at the conference and on the conference app. Poster presenters must stand by their poster during the assigned poster discussion session (hour and date will be provided).
Presenting authors may not present more than two podium presentations or posters.
Topics:
Every abstract has to be assigned to one of the topics of the conference which are the terms written in bold letters in the list below. To ensure allocation to suitable reviewers in addition three keywords have to be selected from the list which characterise the content of the abstract best.

Contents and layout:
Abstract length must not exceed 4000 characters; this includes the Title, Authors and Affiliations, and figure/table. Please check this before submitting the abstract.
The title must clearly indicate the content of the abstract.
The main text of the abstract must not include authors affiliations. This is to keep the abstract as anonymous as possible for review.
Structure
INTRODUCTION, EXPERIMENTAL METHODS, RESULTS AND DISCUSSION, CONCLUSIONS, REFERENCES (if any), ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
The final submitted abstracts will be an A4 sized PDF page (no word limit), including Title, Authors, Affiliations, References (no notes, no bibliography)
